    Remember The Milk

When it comes to managing my life and all the random thoughts and tasks I have that fill it, I have many ways I have tried and new ones I am currently trying.

For example, in the past I have…

      wow, i totally need that
i’m all about the sticky notes, and pieces of paper (which i carry around and add to until i get it done)

ah replace those sticky notes with the hipster pda! Its just notecards held together with a ring or butterfly clip. I use mine constantly to write down notes and stuff. I have a “To Do” card, a “To Get” card, and some reference cards with useful info, plus about 15 other blank cards in the back. When i fill up a To Do card, and cross everything off as done, I throw it away and start a new one. I call mine a hipster pda micro because I use these tiny cards:

from MindBinders. They are only about a third the size of regular notecards and have a small footprint in my pocket. For a pen I have this amazing lil puppy: http://www.zebrapen.com/ball-tele.html

read all about the hipster PDA idea from its source at 43Folders.com

Wow what a good idea. I am gonna sign up for that as soon as I have the time.

I fall into one of the same categories as you do and write notes for myself that I then put in my pocket and then never look at again until it comes out all over my clothes in the laundry a week later.

A masterful and lucid explaination of a difficult concept. Easily the best TiddlyWiki description I’ve ever seen.

    • euicho 7:41 pm on 8/5/2005 Permalink

Wow, thanks! I had yet to read a good explaination since it is such an alien concept to grasp at first.

Here is my approach when explaining something like this. Rather than first describe the functions and capabilities of what you are providing it is better to help orient the reader by explaining “why” this specific “thing” was created. What did you not like about the current way to do something? How does providing what you have provided improve what was there before? Users can grasp what you have provided if they see the mental process you went through to create this new “thing”.

      I hope that helps…

Thanks, I’ll definately keep that in mind in future articles.
