They would not listen, they did not know how
Today is Vincent Van Gogh’s birthday.
I am no student of art history, by any means, but he is one of my favorite Post-Impressionist painters, and I have always held a certain place in my heart for him, seemingly for no reason, but actually due to Don Mclean’s soothing voice.
Take a second to read the wikipedia article, or anything about him, to honor this tragic, remarkable man.

it’s too bad van gogh didn’t have a computer cuz he could read happy birthday and not have to read it on lips.

When I was in art school, one of the students put together a presentation using slides of van Gogh’s artwork and Don McLean’s song. It was impossible to watch without tears filling your eyes.
